Raggy Frames Quilt Class - Lexington
This cozy quilt is fun to make and it gets cozier with each washing! No fancy piecing is required, and some of the quilting is built into the top construction. Squares are easily cut using a wide assortment of Creative Grids Square Rulers and your rotary cutter. We will have a bundle of the rulers with special class pricing! This is a perfect class for the beginner quilter to build their stash of rulers and accessories for many more quilts to come. Lin will have samples to teach how to piece the blocks, assemble the quilt top, add borders, pin baste, quilt, and bind during this 4 hour class. We will make a small quilt in class, and for your next one, you can make it larger by repeating the block making process to make more blocks.
Be sure to get your fabric and cut your 10 1/2 inch squares before class – feel free to show up early to cut your pieces and we recommend bringing a snack.

| Requirements: | The sample quilt is about 38 x 48 inches. The top is made of 12 blocks and a border. Backgrounds: 3 fabrics at 1/3 yard each. They should be similar in intensity of color. CUT FOUR 10 and 1/2 inch squares from each fabric. Frames: You can use a Layer cake OR at least 6 fabrics at 1/4 yard each (get a nice mix of light, medium, and dark) Borders and binding: 1 1/2 yards Backing: 1 1/2 yards Batting: I like cotton, throw size for this quilt Neutral thread, scissors, straight pins, 12 size 2 Curved Basting pins (available in store) *****PRE CLASS CUTTING: Backgrounds: four 10 1/2 inch squares from EACH of the fabrics to total TWELVE. This is easiest and most accurate with a 10 1/2 square ruler.***** I just love the way this quilt feels after washing it. It seems to get better all the time! We will work on block construction in class. You can make this quilt as large as you want by making more blocks. I can help you figure out fabric requirements for a larger quilt.
