Mask & Scrunchie Sew Along (Serger or Sewing Machine)

This project will be taught on the serger, but can be made on either the serger or sewing machine. Instruction will be given for both machines. You will make a mask pattern based on the CDC mask pattern, and a matching scrunchie.

Project requirements:
1 fat quarter of fabric
1 hair tie
20 inches of 5mm elastsic (1/4", 5/8" or elastic string will work as well)
Serger or sewing machine
3 serger threads if using a serger, or polyester thread if sewing on a sewing machine
Fray check
Hand sewing needle
Paper clip or safety pin
Iron/ironing board
Rotary cutter/rotary cutting mat

Requirements: | This project can be done on a serger or a sewing machine. If it is done on a serger, you will need 3 spools of serger thread. If you are working on a sewing machine, you will need a spool of thread and a 1/4" foot. You will need 2 pieces of 10"x6" fabric, and one piece of coordinating 18"x4" fabric. 1 hair tie and 20 inches of elastic. |
