I was inspired to create these “vases” after visiting museums on a recent trip. These “vases” fit over a bottle, so you can actually put water and cut flowers in them!
It is all about the fabric you choose. Make one that looks Picasso-esque, or VanGogh-esque, or just choose some fabric that you like. I have the patterns for you.
These are created using a serger with the 4 thread overlock stitch. IF you have never used a serger, THIS WOULD BE A GREAT CHANCE for you to try one, as the classroom at Thomas’s will have them ready for you, or bring your own if you have one.
You will need a quarter yard of fabric that you like, 4 spools of matching thread, some ¼” foam (like the kind used in purse making—available at Thomas’s), and the pattern which I will provide (and I will teach you how to design your own patterns, too!
Sign up now (and let us know if you have your own serger or if you will be using one of ours). If you are bringing your own serger, please install two new needles and be sure it is up and running.
