You must have already taken Garment Making 101 before you can take this class. For more information, please contact the store.
The first of the practical garment making classes is a super cute skirt that has many different options for every style! This pattern is beginner friendly with lots of space to really play with customization.
We carry the pattern in sizes 0-18 and 14-30. The pattern does run slightly larger than marked so please read over the measurements carefully. The yardage needed for your garment will vary but it will be on the back of the pattern envelope.
This will be a three day class, spanning three Wednesdays. You will need to bring your own machine, either a sewing machine or a serger, and please be comfortable with the basics of using your machine, like threading your machine and winding a bobbin.
In this class, you will learn:
how to read, cut and size a pattern
how to cut and layout a pattern onto fabric
how to gather fabric
installing an elastic waistband
*Some sewing outside of class time may be required to finish the garment.
Again, you must have already taken Garment Making 101 before you can take this class. If you feel you have a good grasp of the basics, and would like to take this class without 101, please email kye@thomassewingcenter.com before signing up for the class. Failure to do so will result in the class being refunded.
