We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Deb Canham, Serger expert and Designer, to Lexington. Deb has many years of experience working with the Serger, and has taught classes all over the country. Whether you’ve never used a Serger before or you’ve been using one for years, this event is for you!

Day One - Flatlock Purse: October 27th, 9:30AM-5PM

The Flatlock Purse is the perfect decorative purse for when you're on-the-go. If you’ve ever wondered what the Flatlock stitch can be used for, this is the class for you!

Techniques covered in class:

  • Using Decorative Threads
  • How to Incorporate Ribbon and Trim into your projects
  • Inserting a Zipper with the Flatlock Wave
  • Decorative Rosette
  • Braided Handles

Project Dimensions: 11”W x 11”H

 

Day Two - Bird Bag: October 28th, 9:30AM-5PM

The Bird Bag is a darling and versatile project that can be used as a little storage purse or as a day purse.

Techniques covered in class:

  • Inserting a zipper with the P5 Cording Foot
  • Braided Handles
  • Decorative Flatlock Stitch
  • Using Decorative Threads

Project Dimensions: 11”W x 7”H x 4”D

Day Three - Tandy Zippered Bag: October 29th, 9:30AM-5PM

The Tandy Zippered Bag is a stylish storage purse for holding sewing accessories, makeup, craft supplies, and more! Learn how you can easily use a Baby Lock Serger to add embellishment and decorative finishes.

Techniques covered in class:

  • Mexican Wave Stitch
  • Using Decorative Threads
  • Inserting a Zipper with the Flatlock Wave Stitch
  • Rouleau
