Carpenter's Star Quilt Class - Lexington
This two part class will introduce you to the pleasure of working with die cut pieces, piecing the blocks, building skills for reading a pattern, and refining sashing and borders.skills.
In class part one we will piece die cut half square triangles, discuss the benefits and challenges, and follow the pattern schematic to begin putting the quilt top together (bring a flannel backed tablecloth for use in class, 52" X 52" is large enough for this project).
In class part two we will make sashing and borders, learn how to measure to fit, and add to the quilt top.
Please arrive early enough to have your machine and work space set up and ready to go as class will start on time . . . we have a lot to do!
All the fabric for this quilt will be provided.
| Skill Level: | Beginner |
| Skill Details: | Be comfortable with your sewing machine, know how to thread it and wind a bobbin. Have some proficiency with 1/4 inch seams. |
| Materials Included: | All fabric for the quilt top are provided, in the colors shown. |
| Requirements: | Please bring your machine, thread, needles, scissors/snips, seam ripper and and a travel iron or ironing mat if you like. We have some irons and ironing boards in the classroom. As the fabric is die-cut, you won't need a rotary cutter or mat. |
