Skill Builder Series #3 - LEXINGTON
Step outside the norm and join me as we play with Dresden block. A bit of small piecing, a bit of applique, a little Turkey Trot, and you have a new feathered friend going home with you.
Fabric Requirements
The patchwork center and the turkey feathers can be made from scraps you have on hand, a few fat quarters (more variety of fabrics offers a greater visual pleasure) OR one 42 piece Charm Pack (5” squares) of fall prints and solids.
In addition you will need:
½ yard beige print for background
½ yard multicolor print for border
½ yard brown solid for binding
Paper-backed fusible web
Dresden ruler template (Instructor will bring one to share, if you have one please bring to class (put your name on it.)
1 ½ yards backing fabric and 26” X 67” quilt batting
Basic Sewing Supplies
Sewing Machine with power cords and 1/4" foot
Thread
Machine needles
Snips or trimming scissors
Seam ripper
Rotary cutter with a sharp blade
Marking Pencil (mechanical will do)
Small cutting mat
Straight edge ruler 6" x 12”
Class Policies
- We ask that all attendees be respectful towards the instructor, staff, and fellow students. Sewing is fun, and we hope to create an environment where everyone can enjoy themselves and their craft!
- Unless otherwise noted, classes are open to anyone age 14 and up. Ages 10 through 13 welcome as a student if a parent or guardian is also attending the class.
- Regretfully, out of respect to our instructors and their schedules, class fees cannot be refunded or credited unless we are given greater than 48 hours notice. If you are unable to attend class, but there is an associated kit, please contact the store to arrange pickup.
- Most classes require the use of your own machine, unless otherwise noted. Please refer to each individual class description for more information on class requirements. Machines may be available to rent for the class, please ask the staff at TSC about machine rental.
- If there is a technique or project you would like to learn, please let us know! We want to help you learn and grow, and always welcome new ideas and suggestions!
