Couching Tote Class - LEXINGTON

This class is for those who own the Baby Lock Radiance, Solaris, Altair or Meridian versions with the Embroidery Couching function.
This class will be taught on 2 different dates. The First class will show you how to create fabric using the couching feature on your machine. There will be 2 weeks between classes to give you time to finish your homework. The second class will be the construction of the tote bag.
Yarn and leather totes handles are included in the price of the class.
What to bring to first class:
Yarn (included in the price of the class), will be available the day of. If you prefer to use your own yarn, please contact us for recommendations
2 Pieces of fabric cut to 28 x 28 with heavy weight cutaway stabilizer sewn to the edge of the solid colored fabric. The fabric should coordinate with your yarn so that if you happen to see a little piece of fabric through yarn, the color won’t stick out.

If you have Solaris or Radiance, your 2 spool thread stand. If you have a Meridian or Altair, you must have the Baby Lock 2 Spool Thread stand for the yarn threading.
9.5x14, 10.5x16, Large Radiance Hoop. Bring DIME Magnetic hoop in one of those sizes if you have one, or a magnetic 10x10 Baby Lock hoop. You can use regular hoop, just a little more difficult for multi-hooping.
Also bring a 5x7 hoop for practicing before we start the bag. Teacher to bring scrap yarn/fabric/stabilizer for practicing
2 Spools Embroidery Thread (color should coordinate with the yarn you are using to blend in)
Extra needles just in case, 2 bobbins (white is fine), scissors

2 Pieces of Couched Fabric Cut to 20x20
24” Nylon Zipper
2 Pieces of Lining Fabric Cut to 20x20
2 Pieces of Lining Fabric Cut to 6x9
2 Pieces of Lining Fabric Cut to 2.5x2
4 Pieces of Lining Fabric Cut to 2.5x18.5
1 Package In-R-Form Single Sided Fusible Stabilizer 36 x 58 – Cut 2 Pieces 20x20 and fuse to the wrong side of your couching fabric. Can do the fusing in class if you are unsure, but at least have the pieces cut.
Sewing Machine, Foot Pedal, and Power Cord
Dual Feed Presser Foot and Open Toe Foot for Dual Feed if you have it.
Thread that matches your lining fabric and zipper
Thread that matches the color of your tote handles
Ruler at least 2.5 inches wide, can be any length
Magic Clips
Extra needles just in case, 2 bobbins (white is fine), scissors, seam ripper
