Better Binding for Beginners with Toni Raynolds - LEXINGTON

This hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners who want to improve their quilt-finishing
skills and leave with something they’re proud of!
We’ll use a small panel project to guide you through each step of the finishing
process—ideal for learning without being overwhelmed. Whether you’re gifting
it or hanging it on your wall, you’ll leave with practical skills and a charming
finished (or nearly finished!) piece.
Morning Session – Learn basic machine quilting pattern
• Learn to mark and quilt a simple 45° crosshatch (diamond grid)
• Get comfortable layering, quilting, and prepping for binding
Afternoon Session - Learn binding basics, including how to:
• Cut, join, and attach binding strips
• Add a hanging sleeve and a quilt label
• Learn practical tips to avoid wavy edges, twisted joins, and uneven corners
Each student will leave with a finished (or nearly finished ) wall hanging. Complete step-by-
step instructions are provided so you can finish confidently at home if needed.
