Painted Patchwork: Barn Quilt Class | Greenup
Get ready for a fun, creative day at Thomas Sewing Center as we bring the beauty of barn quilts to life, no sewing required! In this hands-on class, you’ll paint your very own barn quilt on a 24" durable ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) board, the same material used for stop signs, so your finished piece is built to last whether you display it indoors or out.
We’ll make the process easy and enjoyable from start to finish. Your board will be prepped and your chosen design will already be drawn on, so you can jump right into the fun part…painting! All paints and brushes are provided, and your instructor will guide you step-by-step through color placement, clean lines, and techniques to help your quilt block really pop. Before class, you’ll receive a collage of design options to choose from, and your instructor will connect with you to go over your selection and help you feel confident and ready.
Just bring a few simple items with you:- Painter’s tape
- A hairdryer (to help speed up drying time between layers)
- Your lunch
You’ll also get to enjoy creating in TSC’s brand new, spacious classroom, designed with your comfort in mind. There’s plenty of room to spread out and work at your own pace, plus convenient amenities including a refrigerator, microwave, and a private restroom. TSC will be providing refreshments including water, soda, coffee and snacks.
Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or trying something new, this class is all about relaxing, getting creative, and leaving with a beautiful barn quilt you’ll be proud to show off. Come ready to paint, laugh, and have a great time!
